In February of 2014, my friend Cora took a trip to Ethiopia. Before she set out I handed her $40 and requested that she bring me back some music (I had heard tell of a vibrant tape trading scene in Ethiopia). Cora knows what’s up — She brought me a bag of 30 tapes hand selected from a treasured trove of tapes! Yeah, Cora!
I am transferring these tapes to mp3 format and would like to share the music with you. The songs are not available for downloading, so I do hope that if you like the music, you’ll find an appropriate way to obtain it from the artists.
Oh, Ethiopia, I’ll visit you someday. Until then, these tapes will hold my sway.
Be well and enjoy.
